I've always done my best to live by the maxim: Do the thing that excites you. It's hell to figure out what you want in life. Fully informed decisions don't exist. All you can do is look at the next steps in front of you and pick the one that excites you. It's a quick way to use your heart as a compass. If each step you take is a direction you are excited about, there can be no wrong steps. The cardinal sin is doing something with your life that makes you miserable, bored, or worst of all - indifferent.

With that said, I got into all of this by accident working for a con artist. I was working as an illustrator, broke beyond belief and living on my friend's couch (Thanks Aud). I replied to a Craigslist ad for an executive assistant/web developer role with no prior experience in either. Turns out I conned a con and I got a killer gig pretending I knew Wordpress. So I taught myself PHP & Wordpress, churned out 2 websites a day for a few months, and then my boss got indicted for fraud and I had to look for a new job.

I was lucky to be swooped up by the Wallrich agency. Working in a proper design agency is something I'll forever be grateful for. Surrounded by intimidatingly talented designers I learned more there than I have anywhere else. There I became a more disciplined illustrator, designer, and developer.

Leaving Wallrich I bounced around several agency, freelance, and in-house jobs. I was blessed with client work for Google, Apple, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Dignity Health, Harris Moran, and many more. I took on various senior design roles and senior fullstack web engineering roles.

Fast forward and I've spent the last decade doing a mix of everything: Illustration, painting, graphic design, CNC machining, mechatronics repair, industrial design, carpentry, campervan building, electrical work, commercial photography, frontend & fullstack web development, and I accidentally worked in a $3 million fraud scheme (I didn't know!)

Whatever's next, I hope it involves working with incredible people on incredible projects.
