I've always done my best to live by the maxim: Do the thing that excites you. It's hell to figure out what you want in life. Fully informed decisions don't exist. All you can do is look at the next steps in front of you and pick the one that excites you. It's a quick way to use your heart as a compass. If each step you take is a direction you are excited about, there can be no wrong steps. The cardinal sin is doing something with your life that makes you miserable, bored, or worst of all - indifferent.
